Breastfeeding Mums - 6 Questions We Think Are Worth Checking Out!

With so many breastfeeding clothes and gadgets out there, it's hard finding clothes that match your personality and are also practical when it comes to breastfeeding. Everyone is trying to get you to try their items only for them to fall short of expectations because not much thought or experience has gone into them especially when it comes to functionality. To be honest when someone has just had a baby, they need clothes that allow room for body adjustments therefore the fabric has got to be flexible and also no one wants to keep lifting their dress up each time they have to breastfeed - which can be quite often especially in those first few months. It's even worse when there is a chill in the air!

Breastfeeding And Sagging Myth (Or Fact)?

Ever wondered if there was any truth in this statement – Breastfeeding causes breast sagging. I think we all have at some point in our lives and like many I think we all assume it does so until you get your facts right. I have always been one to dig a bit deeper and find it uncomfortable to just take ‘facts’ on face value. I would be lying if I said that this hasn’t landed me in hot water a few times (well maybe not just a few times :) ) but I believe knowledge is power and it’s better to have your facts right than follow the majority blindly. So, the question remains...

Handling Criticism. Becoming Your Own Breastfeeding Advocate.

Breastfeeding can be a truly wonderful experience and with the right amount of support around you, everything seems possible. But what happens if those closest and most dear to you are the ones voicing out negative opinions about your journey? Without a shadow of a doubt, I think it hurts more when it's those close to you that are less supportive than when it's a total stranger. With a stranger, you can ignore and leave them behind and probably never see them again but when it's your family or those close to you, it's not that simple. How do you go about handling such criticism? Teresa Pitman, a La Leche League Leader for more than 30 years in Canada wrote a very interesting and informative article which I thought would be fitting for these questions. So sit back, grab a coffee and enjoy the article! And please do let us know your thoughts when you are finished by commenting below. :)

I don't know about you but when I started breastfeeding, I didn't know anyone else who was or had recently been breastfeeding. All my memories were from my childhood and I just remember thinking I wanted to breastfeed and I was going to give it my best shot. I knew it was the best thing for my baby but I just didn't realise by how much...

Kids Who Were Breastfed Longer Have Higher IQs, New Study Shows.

It is safe to say that breastfeeding will always be a hot top and no matter how much scientific proof there is to show the amazing benefits, there will always be those who will overlook this data in favour of appearances and vanity. Which is such a shame because the benefits of breastfeeding are simply priceless and it is because of this that no matter how many good formulas have been created out there, none will ever come close to breastmilk.
